60th Homecoming Celebration

Sunday, June 12, 10:45 a.m.

There will be only one worship service on Homecoming Sunday at 10:45 a.m.

followed by a meal of celebration and fellowship.

 

During the worship hour we will rededicate our updated sanctuary

and pray God’s blessing on our new Prayer Garden.

 

The meal following the worship service will be a covered dish dinner.  The church will provide the meat.  In order to insure a variety of dishes the homecoming committee is asking each family to bring a dish LARGE enough to feed 10 – 12 people.

 

If your last name starts with A-G bring a Salad.

If your last name starts with H-Q bring a Vegetable.

If your last name starts with R-Z bring a Dessert.

In order to set up the committee is asking that reservations be made by either calling the church office or filling out the reservation form in the worship bulletin.  Please place the form in the offering plate. Reservations are needed by Thursday, June 9th.

Please bring in any shoe boxes with lids.  We will be using them with VBS this year.  You may place them in the Sojourner’s Sunday School room.  Thanks! Garden Committee

Camping - The sites are booked and we will be at Wildwood Camp Ground in Area 3 on May 19th. Some of us will be there Thursday through Monday so come and join us. 

We will be having dinner together on Saturday May 21st. We invite all of you to bring your chairs and come join us for Low Country Boil, Camp Pies, Marshmallows and S'Mores. There will be a $5.00 per person charge for the dinner on Saturday night. Please let Trilla know how many and give her the money. There will be a short church service on Sunday morning also. You are  invited to join us..

 

 

The Administrative Assistant will be on vacation beginning Monday May 16th and will return Monday, May 23rd.

Spring is Coming!

Time for our Camping Trip!  We will be going to Wildwood Camp Ground on May 20, 21 and 22ndThe sites will be either $18.00 or $20.00 a night.  You may stay extra days.  I will need to know who is going and for how many days by April 18th.  They have changed the cancellation policy.  See or call Trilla, 706-556-8123 for reservations or questions.  More details to follow.

If you are a college student or a graduating senior did you know that The Martinez United Methodist Women have a scholarship available?  To apply just write a short note, of where you are attending college or where you plan to attend, your field of study and the activities you have been involved in at the church.  Place this in the UMW box.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Columbia County Cares

 

During the “Welcome the Children” the children may bring canned goods and place them in the offering basket. We also collect items on Sunday and all week long. Items may be placed in the wagon on the office wing or in the basket in the narthex.
